Throughout history, chocolate has been marketed differently to different consumer types. Other tactics that companies use to shape consumers needs and wants is to use celebrities or other famous people to sell their products. Marketers and salespeople work together to determine what consumers need and how to deliver it. Sales and marketing should motivate, inspire and feed one other.
Most companies don’t spend enough time discovering who exactly their customers are to be able to draft a marketing strategy that will lead them to success. Your marketing strategy is your map. The ideal sales and marketing relationship is a symbiotic one. Instead, they read a lot of marketing theory and try a lot of different things.
It’s no accident that more recently established companies, tech giants, and organizations that employ a large number of millennials are killing it with their marketing efforts. Without this it is easy to become so consumed with one plan and one set of actions that other plans and required actions start to suffer.
Companies also take advantage of world events or changes in the economy to come out with new products. Unfortunately, most people settle on mostly one phone-based marketing activity – cold calling. I’d like to present to you a way to use Maslow’s needs pyramid so that you can get inside the consumer’s mind and develop an understanding of what’s truly motivating them as they consider purchasing your product or service.
Breaking Down Sales And Marketing
Marketing to specific groups of consumers, or target marketing, is one of the most important concepts in marketing. We might feel as though we are getting things done by talking and learning about various types of marketing theory, but in essence, we are just spinning our wheels. Some consumers would not mind paying a higher price for an item or service if they received very good service.
Regarding the second argument ‘Marketing shapes consumer needs and wants.’ I have to also agree with this statement. There are various criteria that companies use to segment their products and some of them are geographic, demographic, psycho graphic and behavioral.
You wouldn’t engage in marketing if you had nothing to sell, and your sales strategy would be much less informed and successful if not for your marketing efforts. Marketing theory is the science of marketing. A common mistake made by older, more established businesses is to assume that salespeople are skilled at marketing and that marketing people are skilled at making sales.
No doubt if you are trying to progress on your journey to MLM success and you have been doing some training and some research then you will have discovered the importance of having a good MLM marketing plan in place. These companies also make their companies seem fun and sometimes quirky to attract children to other products they may offer. This is all part of what a consumer’s expectations on a product are, if these perceived expectations are met time after time then they become a loyal customer to that particular company.
The Key To Make Your Marketing Message Stand Out
Marketing to specific groups of consumers, or target marketing, is one of the most important concepts in marketing. Without a sound strategy, companies struggle to keep up with their competition, they miss opportunities that would lead to better results, and they win fewer customers.
That’s why most small businesses turn to marketing experts for assistance, and when they do, their business explodes. Mike Roach, CEO of CGI, was quoted as saying, “Strategy without execution is a hallucination!” If that is true, then marketing theory without strategy and execution is psychosis.
Successful marketing is really a 3-part process that involves following sound marketing theories, creating a detailed strategy, and executing that strategy.
